WELCOME TO TIA
The Tourism Innovation Academy

What is the Tourism Innovation Academy project?
Tourism Innovation Academy (TIA), under the umbrella of the Tourism Support Center Foundation (TSC) targets the development of the tourism sector, by fostering a tourism start-up ecosystem and providing extensive entrepreneurship support.
The Tourism Innovation Academy will support entrepreneurs with relevant skills, knowledge and networks as well as the opportunity to compete in national and global markets.
This project is brought to you by EU4Business, the German Development Cooperation GIZ Armenia (GIZ) Tourism Support Center and Impact Hub Yerevan.
The Challenge and Objectives
There is a lack of innovative approaches to tackling issues in the Republic of Armenia’s tourism sector. There is a need to build and develop a tourism startup ecosystem, and create an environment for growing investable, scalable and replicable projects.
Tourism Innovation Academy intends to promote tourism ventures with a dedicated approach to nurture the pipeline of successful business concepts into viable projects. TIA will prepare and activate tourism start-ups providing systematic entrepreneurship assistance and promotion for both idea stage start-ups and already existing innovative tourism entrepreneurs.
The main objective of the TIA Project is the Implementation of a Start-up incubation program to activate start-ups, validate ideas, nurture the pipeline of successful business concepts and prepare for the EU4Business “Innovative Tourism and Technology Development for Armenia” (ITTD) calls for proposals.
We will provide systematic and continued entrepreneurship assistance to tourism startups and ventures throughout the entire incubation phase. TIA will form up working teams to support the developing ideas and uplift existing solutions further and to build on their strengths and to overcome hurdles in the process.
Target Groups
Our main targets are idea-stage initiatives, tourism startups and existing ventures that are active or planning to be active in the three Northern regions. We are open to working with teams with innovative tourism ideas, emerging businesses, and start-ups.
